Maggie is our largest, longest and tallest doe. She has a high wide udder with great udder capacity and teat placement. She was our highest milk producer. Maggie is just great all around from her face to her feet. I think I'll need a judge to help me find her weaknesses... She is our herd leader, and has a bad habit of taking advantage of small children or unsuspecting company- but we are working on this. She was an X kid named after a magazine, hence the nickname, Maggie
We lost Maggie this summer. You can read more about her here and here
Here are our does, beginning with our Senior does at the top and moving on to our Junior does and doelings. While we have yet to show our goats, our goal is to breed productive healthy does who will make great family milk goats and also be competitive in the show ring. Look on our Farm page for more information on how we raise the goats and sales information.

White
Bred to Wild Roots Zoro
Kidded March 14 to one buff buckling, one buff doeling and one black and white doelling.
Xara means blooming flower. She was one of six X kids our first year, and we could only take so many X names. Rose fits. She is a pretty doe, although petite. Her feet rolled a bit under the weight of her first pregnancy. Rose is our highest producer. She was giving 5-7 lb of milk per milking most the summer and fall, with a record high of 7 3/4 lb. Rose has a great udder, it is high and wide with a lovely roundness to it. Rose is one of our three Rockin CB does. Her half sister is Xoe. We've kept her first daughter Zinnia, who has just freshened for the first time and is looking wonderful. She has a similar shaped udder and teats as her dam. We are very excited to see Rose's first daughter exceed our expectations.

Chamoisee
Bred to Ober-D-Rainbow's Zanzibar
Kidded to two bucklings and one doeling. Bucklings available as bucks or wethers.
Xanadu is one of my favorites, as she is very sweet and seems to always be aware of what is going on around her. She has a nice udder, with perfectly sized and shaped teats. I love the flashy looks of the Kastdemur goats and I am excited about the new angle Xanadu is bringing into the herd. Her first and only daughter, Avalon is a dry yearling this year, but will be bred first thing in the fall of 2011.

Black and Tan
Kidded to twin black and tan bucklings for sale as wethered males.
Xoe is a good looking level doe. Xoe is a well behaved milker. She averages around four pounds/ half a gallon of milk per milking/ twice a day. Her teats are huge which makes for easy milking if you have large hands, they are more work for my hands. She makes a fine family milking goat- although she is not to be trusted solo around small children. Her half sister is Rose. We have two of her daughters in the herd, Yin and Asia. We are going to miss Xoe - but we can't keep them all. She has had a good life so far and we are looking for a family/ owner who will continue to provide her with a quality life, (for a goat).

Possibly bred to Rockin CB Xavier
Our first Wild Roots doeling!! Yin is a handsome young lady and huge - since she still hasn't been bred at two years old! She is thick and solid. We've attempted breeding the last two falls without success. She is our only doe we've had problems breeding. She spent a month in with a buck this fall without results. She may be sold this summer.

Zinnia kidded March 16 to two large brown/gray and white/cream doelings. One will be sold.
Zinnia is a beautiful young doe. We are just seeing her new udder for the first time and we couldn't be more pleased. She has her dam's lovely high wide udder. We have yet to milk her yet but will be doing so soon. From the looks of her udder, I've no doubt she'll be milking over four pounds per milking. It has been tempting to breed the does their first year, but we waited and are thankful as they carried their pregnancies with ease and have not had the hoof issues that our older does had. Pictures of Zinnia and her newly freshened udder are coming soon.

Zuri kidded March 25 to one gray and white doeling.
Zuri is also a two year old first freshener this season. As she kidded to one doeling, she is milking less than Zinnia, around three pounds per milking. That being said, her udder has a nice shape, with good teat placement, and also great teat shape. I can easily see the potential of her udder to mature in width and volume next freshening. Zuri is a beautiful and sweet doe. She has been an amazingly easy first time milker on the stand. She is among my top favorites in the herd. I'll be sharing recent pictures of her soon.
